How my journey began
me with baby #3
My first child was born in California in 2017. I knew from the beginning that I wanted to be able to form trusting relationship with the woman who would support me through birth, and was fortunate to find a remarkable midwife and a steadfast doula who followed me through pregnancy and held beautiful space for me as I welcomed my daughter into the world. It is a day I look back upon as her birthday, of course, but also my own - the day I became a mother, a role and an identity that has set me on this path that has brought me to you.
We moved to Rome when our daughter was just three months old, and it is here that our second child, a son, our third, another daughter, and our fourth, another son, were born, all in peaceful and empowering home birth experiences that I credit with helping me grow into a stronger version of myself. My first experiences of birth and postpartum inspired me, a tenured professor and professional educator for twenty years, to complete my training as a doula and earn a diploma in hypnobirth teaching, so that I could help usher other women on the journey in which I’ve found such meaning and JOY.
I believe in the power of birth. Not only as an inevitability, but as a seat of potential. In a society that has shed most transformative human ritual, birth remains as a singular rite of passage. A portal through which we can gain much of the strength that motherhood demands we possess. I want to help women embrace the gift that the birth experience is, to approach it with confidence and peace, and to walk away from it positively transformed, no matter how it occurs.
I hope you might grant me the privilege of being part of your journey.
What People Are Saying
Elizabeth was a great source of support and information throughout my pregnancy and postpartum.
We moved to Rome when I was 6 months pregnant and it took me a while to find antenatal support in English. By the time I first met Elizabeth I was already 8 months along and completely stressed out about facing the unknown of having my first baby, in a new country, where on top of it all I don’t speak the language.
And along came Elizabeth! From the first time I met her, her calm, warm and reassuring nature was a breath of fresh air. In no time Elizabeth helped me gain the knowledge and the assertiveness I needed to welcome my baby with confidence.
Elizabeth continued (still is) to be source of knowledge, care and support in navigating through the early days of parenthood.
I highly recommend Elizabeth and her services!
Deni, scheduled cesarean
When I was pregnant with my second baby, I decided to give birth at home. As I did not feel any support from the medical system towards this choice, I felt like I needed to meet other mothers who would help me to stand by my decision.
To participate in the birth course was one of the best choices I could make for myself as a woman, mother and a feminist. I felt the presence of an amazing community and support.
All the things I learned about birth, post-partum and child education were enormously precious to me and still help me in my daily routine.
What really marked my experience with Elizabeth was the sensitive space that she created where I felt safe, listened to with no judgement, and really understood.
I could freely talk about my experiences of first birth, and also my experience of a new mother in the society and a couple. I discovered that I didn't even know how much I needed that space. I gave birth to my second son at home and it was beautiful!

I met with Elizabeth in Rome when we were waiting for our baby. I read books to prepare myself for birth but when the times get closer I need to have professional support.
That moment I found her by Il Nido - Rome. She responded to me so quickly and organized the meeting according to our timetable while she has 3 kids! So you can trust her about what she is telling! She is calm, well-organized and resourceful.
Because of our busy schedule, we struggled to finish our planned lessons, but Elizabeth was so generous, helpful and patient to answer my all questions and worries. During all this process she supports me with books, meditation music and exercises etc. I am also thankful to her for the support after the birth.
So overall, you can be sure that you won't just get professional services from Elizabeth, you are having a connection with some who has also personally knows what you have been through.
